BARBARA SHENEFIELD

I make art because I have to. In recent years I’ve been making posters in a style reminiscent of the National Parks posters. The original posters that promoted our parks got a big boost when FDR’s New Deal program to fund art, the Works Progress Administration came along in 1933-1941. What developed was a truly American style of poster. I work in this genre. The Great Depression is echoed in today’s struggles: monopoly power, inequality, working with dignity for a fair wage; cooperating together to protect public health, our national parks and national resources, working together for our collective future.

Every month, we feature new artists in our virtual Art Galleries! Here is a chance for you to connect with the community through your art.  If you are interested in being featured as a Creative Alliance Project artist of the month, please fill out the submission form on “SUBMIT ART” . Because the mission of C.A.P. is to deepen connection through the arts, supporting creatives in all their endeavors, we provide direct links to the artists who wish to be contacted (and their galleries for those that are represented) as well as being archived for the community to enjoy at any time.
